Comments:
Swift is one smart guy. Sometimes its difficult to keep up with him in his lectures because he moves so fast on really complex subjects. I found myself writing notes like crazy in all his classes. But he is really responsive to questions and tries to make sure that everyone is on the right page.
Hard grader on essays, but he will give you a detailed reason for the grade and how you can improve you writing skills.
Nice guy too. Has a passion for what he teaches.

Although Swift is a nice guy, his lectures are very ambigious and difficult to understand as well as his notes and essay promts. He is often available and willing to assist though. I found that his essays took twice as long to write because I had to disifer his prompt and then write an essay accordingly.

Comments:
I found Professor Swift's Junior seminar to be extremely informative. He explains ideas in a clear manner and asks "does everyone get it?" if he feels some people have yet to grasp what he's talking about. While he sometimes goes off-topic, these are usually fun digressions. He does tend to like tlking though, so make sure to tell him when you want to speak or he's likely to carry on for much of the period.
