He is an absolutely brilliant person, making each class an adventure. Sometimes it's disorienting to leave his class, because he's put so many new and engaging ideas in your head, but meeting with him helps to sort through them and make meaning of them. He is very hard to get ahold of outside of class, and is overworked, but he loves what he does and it shows.

He has a tendency to go off an tangents a lot, but that is because he knows a ton and all of the tangents are ideas which he has passion for. It makes for an inspiring environment and makes you want to try and think harder. He has a large paper for his higher level classes, but he works with you till you come up with an idea that you will want to write 20 pages for. Don't miss out, the classes are a trip.

Malek is smart, passionate, and most importantly very respectful of your opinion and point of view. The lectures are funny and interesting, and he's very easygoing and understanding when it comes to homework. His "Intro to Islam" is extremely interesting and very comprehensive. Highly recommended.

AMAZING! Take a class with this man. He knows his stuff, you learn a lot, class is interesting and he's highly good looking on top of it. What more could you ask for? It's a lot of work and a lot of reading but it's worth it.
