Comments:
Romero wants to be one of the kids. She is interesting enough as a lecturer, but not particularly organized. My particular bias--she says words like "retard" as if there were no social connotations--and a psych prof should know better. And is pretty daft when it comes to discussions of gender.

Comments:
Professor Romero is without a doubt the worst prof I've had in my 4 years at Oxy. She teaches in an unorganized manner- for example, she once put only book material on the study guide then only testing on class material. Her curriculum is ridiculously unchallenging- but this doesn't help you get a good grade- she spend almost a week on means, medians, and modes- which one learns in junior high. I agree with the above reviewer- stay on her good side- she's spiteful. I am on her bad side and she won't even respond to my emails now. Worst, she doesn't know the material very well, she often mixes up concepts or presents things in such a convuluted manner that you get confused. An absolute waste of tuition.

Full of personal biases that reflect in very subjective grading of written materials. Exams are open notes, but arbitrary grading neutralizes advantages. Don't get on her wrong side; it'll reflect in your grades. Work load not too bad, but if you are serious about psychology, best to choose another professor. She seems to be very much at the effect of her mentors' attitudes and not flexible about it.

I disagree with the person that reviewed before me. If they want to take the worst class ever they should take something with Chapman. Romero does like you to repeat what she said but that's her only flaw. I like that she's highly organized, you know what to expect, and her lectures are quality. She probably wont win any Prof of the year awards but they are sound classes and I've learned a lot.

Comments:
Professor Romero is a horrible "professor." I have taken literally every Psych class at this school and never have I been so disappointed/frustrated/flabergasted by a professor's performance. My final grade was good, but the process was extremely arbitrary and it is painfully obvious that not only has she never, ever taught, but that she simply is terrible at it. My grade was entirely contingent upon buying into whatever she wanted, regardless of an explanation or logic. When she grades your work, it is not uncommon that she a.) can't read her own writing and then b.) has no clue why she marked you down. Don't be misled by her student-like appearance/demeanor.
