Comments:
Looking at the other comments, he is not the teacher for non-science majors. If you're a kinese major, he's awesome. He will teach you tons about nutrition, physiology, and exercise. His classes are mostly lecture except for Cellular Dynamics which is a mix of lecture and discussion.
His exams are curved based on the highest grade in the class. If you have someone really smart in your class you better be able to compete with that person.
He talks fast so be prepared to write the whole lecture period. If you miss anything he puts up on a projector or transparency, you have to go in before or after class to copy it. I highly suggest copying all his transparencies for Physiology BEFORE class. Then during class you won't have to scribble messy notes.
He is very good with email and extra help during office hours.

Comments:
Sternlicht was an ok professor, but for an entry level science class he lectures as if we all know what hes talking about when he throws out scientific terminology. Also, if you're interested in Anatomy, don't bother taking this calss, because its all about nutrition and exersize. The semester I took this class all my friends hated me because I got all paranoid about nutrition and trans fats and stuff. Its good stuff to know, but it makes it hard to ever really enjoy a candy bar again.

Comments:
sternlicht is very science-minded and demands strict attention to detail. if you are not a science person and you need a non-lab class, don't take this one. if, however, you are willing to study for an entry-level course and you want to learn a ton about nutrition for optimal health/athletic performance, take this class. it's one of the most useful and informative classes i'v ever taken. also, pretty much all the information on tests/quizzes are from class, so don't skip a lot or just get notes from someone really meticulous.

Comments:
Sternlicht is very knowledgeable. However, he is so enveloped in his subject and knowledable about it that he has lost touch with college students. His explanations are bound in thick scientific language that no one can understand. Furthermore, his ginormous leg muscles make it imposible to concentrate in class.
