Comments:
Stocking is good, but overrated by his fan club. He's a smart, enthusiastic prof, but so are many in the ECLS department. I recommend his classes, but don't expect to get too much face time, what with the competition.

Comments:
Professor Stocking really made every text he taught come alive. Despite the fact that I had to sit in one seat for an hour and a half every Tuesday and Thursday, I was enthralled by almost every point he made. He also makes some ingenius comparisons to pop culture, which is effective in lightening the often stuffy atmosphere that accompanies "the classics." Even if you aren't an ECLS major and just need to fulfill some core requirement, take one of his classes.

Eager, interesting, innovative, and DEFINATELY works well with students. This man will make classics your most enjoyable class, and I guarantee that you will never lack for attention during his lectures. The man knows what he's talking about, he loves the subject, and his willingness to make it just as rewarding for YOU is fantastic.
