I think he is a very good professor. The thing that would make him better is fixing what has apparently made many upset, which is his unwillingness to acknowledge the conservative perspective. In my experience, I do think that he could do better with demonstrating that liberal policy is certainly no cure-all. However, I cannot really blame him for wanting students to adopt liberal views, because he supplies so much evidence that the conservative policy leads to the most social/economic inequality (As you can tell, I agree with him). I liked his films, although it did seem very long when we would watch 2 films in one night, outside of class! He assigns lots of reading, but the key is to site all of these readings in your papers. I think that the workload for a freshman or sophmore will seem ridiculously high, but his class is definitely worth taking. Unfortunately, too many conservatives will decide that they don't like him because he openly rejects their views. Everyone can learn a lot from him.

Certainly passionate, but unwilling to explore many sides of the very controversial topics he throws at the class. In fact, he isn't even willing to explore the entire liberal spectrum, usually just the semi-radicalist view. I'm not sure when Andrew Grinberg had him, but that review did not resemble anything I experienced with Dreier; he does have experience, but he has radicalized since his days in Boston politics. Probably best to avoid, especially if you are still exploring your political persuasion; it's indoctrination, not education.

Dreier's Pol. 101 made me want to major in politics. There was alot of reading and the writing assignments are not in short supply, but the discussions we're lively and heated so you never fall asleep in class. So what if everything has a liberal spin, politics is about perspective, his class helps you find your own and thats what your'e going to remember and take with you. Also, he's just a nice guy who is passionate about his field, how many professors really are?

Incredibly biased and his how he leads discussions, assigns readings, lectures, and grades all reflect his far left views. Avoid him unless you want a one-sided view of politics.

He certaintly is very biased, I would be unhappy in any of his classes if I were a conservative. He assigns a absolutely ridiculous amount of reading, and can be a little cantankerous. On the other hand, he does know alot about his subject, and lectures well (altough the tone of class is not enthusiastic or engaging... it often feels like we're in a courtroom listening to a judge).

A lot of people thinks he's biased but that has not been my experience. He really challenges you in discussions and make you think about what you are saying. He also has lots of real life experience in politics and is willing to pass his knowledge on.

Can we add a 0 to ratings...
I dunno what his grading is like...
I know that most aren't fond of him and I am growing less and less so with each day of class with him.
